My Astra Project

Right then, this is my first car! It's a 1.8 Astra Sport and it needs a new top half of the engine, got the parts!! and now having the best fun of replacing it

The swapping of replacement parts has started now, got some pics but not loads but I will update this as and when things happen, and also with the rest of the car

Only got the bolts holding the head left on now so next update will be when the head comes off and I start dismantling the Astra ready to swap over!

ben ben ben, please don't re-use that old cambelt lol, we're gonna have to arrange a meet at some point, what you think? gonna be a sweet loking car though mate

The cambelt in that box mate is near enough new!

I see the spare engine is having a cushy life sitting on that rug? lol

Yep likes it on the rug lol!

Well I'm off to the garage later today as I've got some crystal indicators to fit on the car and also a tray for under the dash board!

Same on the passenger side, nice touch I think!

Also got one of our spare headunits fitted! Can't test it yet though due to lack of battery but it has 2 pre-outs so will do find when I get my sub & amp.


And also trial fitted this, haven't screwed it in place yet but it's a tray that goes under the glove box.


Nice update if I may say so myself!

Them GSi rear lights deffinitly make a difference don't they mate,
coming on slowly, as the saying goes 'a slow horse always wins the race?' lol

Well the head is off the engine we're using now and this weekend we'll be starting the swap over, car will be running by the end of April!

Just bought the car some smoked side repeaters, and also on the look out for some m3 mirrors

Update time, smoked side repeaters arrived yesterday so I didn't hang about in getting them fitted! Also adjusted the crystal indicators slightly so they fit a lot better now - still need chrome bulbs for them though! Chrome vectra interior handles have been posted so should have them today or tomorrow and will fit them this weekend!
